Not even Boomrng offers a way through while it's active. That's the point of choosing it.

Beyond one site at a time

A limit on how many tabs you're allowed open — at once, everywhere.

Tab Budget isn't per-window and isn't per-site. Set a number, and it holds across every normal Chrome window you have open — opening a second window is never a way around it. Go over, and Boomrng shows you exactly which tabs are open and lets you close your way back under the limit.

Tab Budget applies to your normal Chrome windows. It doesn't operate in Incognito.

Local, and exactly what that means

Nothing here needs an account.

No account. No analytics. No telemetry. Boomrng makes no network requests of its own — your configuration never leaves this device.
Everything is stored locally, in Chrome's own extension storage — your constraints, your settings, your Tab Budget, your PIN.
Your PIN is stored in plain text, locally. Not encrypted, not hashed. It's never transmitted, and never included when you export your settings.
Private constraints hide a site inside Boomrng's own popup until you unlock it with your PIN. That's UI masking, not encryption — it doesn't hide the visit from Chrome's own browsing history.
